EQUITY BANK KENYA SWIFT CODE

A Swift Code is a bank code used to Identify particular banks both locally and international. It's also known as a Bank Identifier Code (BIC).

Swift codes are mostly used when one wants to transfer money between banks, especially when it comes to international wire transfers. 

It consists of 8 or 11 characters. Head office of a bank is normally referred by 8 characters.


Swift Code Format

AAAA BB CC DDD

AAAA  First 4 characters – bank code (only letters)

BB Next 2 characters – Country code (only letters) KEN

CC Next 2 characters – location code (letters and digits)

DDD Last 3 characters – branch code, this is optional.

As of 2018, EQBLKENA is still the swift code of Equity Bank Kenya.
